Amber is fossilized tree resin. Examples of it have been appreciated for its color and natural beauty since the Neolithic times.

Colors It Comes In - Green, Yellow, Red, Blue, Brown, Orange

Some Amber Is Florescent

Fracture Pattern - Conchoidal

 

Shape - irregular nodules, rods, or rain drop like shapes

Luster - resinous to vitreous polish

Texture - plastic like/waxy

Where It Can Be Found - It can be found anywhere trees with sap are or have been. Amber is most commonly found in the Baltic region and the Dominican Republic.

Hardness On The Mohs Scale - 2 To 2.5 Out Of 10
